Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager will provide strategic oversight and program planning for the Sears primary social media platforms on Twitter and Facebook. S/he also identifies opportunities for integration with internal teams including marketing and CCN and designs and manages programs. This position establishes and executes guidelines that can also be implemented across the enterprise. The Social Media Manager works with various internal teams including marketing, media, PR, Customer Care Network (CCN), Legal and IT Security to ensure campaigns are integrated and compliant.
S/he oversees the editorial and program calendar for Twitter and Facebook with the intention of both to grow the member base and serve the priority needs of the business.
S/he will identify and create programs and promotions to grow membership and engagement on the Twitter and Facebook platforms. Additionally, the Social Media Manager will identify opportunities to create greater efficiency, enhance the user experience and serve priority business needs within the platforms by enhancing or creating new products (e.g. Facebook Tabs and/ or applications). S/ he will be responsible for requesting and establishing the need and ROI for budget to support these programs, promotions and platform enhancements.
S/he will be accountable for offering POVs and strategic plans and for product enhancements, programs and new opportunities within the Twitter and Facebook platforms. The Social Media Manager has responsibility for management and coaching of 3 or more community moderators.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements Required Skills/ Experience:
• Strong integrated marketing background with social media and promotion development experience
• Strategic marketing planning, program and product development with proven ability to execute under tight deadlines
• Demonstrated first-hand experience using social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, for business use representing an organization or brand
• Budget development, management and ROI evaluation
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Desired, but not required Skills/ Experience:
o Understanding of Sears brand and products and customer profile a plus
o Follow established social media plans for Twitter and Facebook. Make adjustments and enhancements with direction from Director, Social Media Marketing
o Work in tandem with Directors to ensure coordination and optimal integration with organization Business Units and SHC Communities
o Create promotions to drive member growth and engagement in primary platforms as well as emerging, as directed
o Develop communications to internal teams to obtain buy-in for new programs and guidelines, provide updates regarding team activities, new opportunities among other internal communications
o Work with internal teams and vendors to develop new programs, applications and experiences for members and ensure efficiencies for moderators
o Counsel internal partners regarding social media opportunities, usage and implementation as needed
o Set direction for editorial calendar and adjust to priority business needs as necessary
o Manage team of social media moderators
o Assist team in identifying trends, best practices and new developments within social media and understanding applications for SHC
Years Experience 2 – 5 Years Experience
Preferred Minimum Education Bachelors Level Degree
